Getting close to red line? My bad habit is pushing it past the red line! Actually I don't know the real "red line" for my engine, but I easily go past the line on my tach.

My worst habit is being distracted by having such a good time and NOT looking at my temp gauge often enough.

I have an electric puller fan on a temp switch that works great but is so loud I put a manual off switch, which I use often but sometimes forget to turn back on. I need to put an idiot light or maybe an idiot-"max temp" -override circuit in there to keep this idiot in line.

My second worst habit is having false hope the po-po won't notice me driving too fast given it's such an old car!

Parking it in the driveway to show it off constantly after you polished and waxed it all day long, as the other neighbors have cycle in and out doing their lawn care.

My first car was a firebird and in the late 90's crusing in our area was dead, but we did it anyway. I always have sneaked a peek passing a big glass window and I was guilty of pausing the tape deck so aerosmiths sweet emotion would break in just as we pulled to the red light with t tops out. Of course I always polished it in the driveway constantly and I remember one day a car full of girls pulled up next door and went inside and I thought I wish I could meet a girl like that. Well I ended up marrying that exact girl. 3 corvettes and a Camaro later she still misses the bird.

So get her a '70s Firebird in her favorite color as a surprise! Relatively cheap compared to an "old Corvette", and I'll bet her "response" will take you back to those (ahem) early days...

Default where is the first corvette i had?

i regret most of all, of getting rid of my first corvette. it was an 87 and i had done so much work on it including a clutch rebuild and a Doug Nash 4 speed transmission rebuild, and that car was so much fun to drive. That is my worst of habits...of trading off stuff that i put so much work into.

I can't remember that I ALWAYS scrape my right knuckle when entering my car, because I forget that my removable wheel hub has very sharp edges

Spending too much time, effort planning and researching prior to undertaking a restoration project instead of just doing it.

I still double-clutch, I still Heel-and-toe . . . I know I don't have to - I just LIKE to. I gave one neighbor a ride to work one day, and as I let him off he said, "I could never own a car like this - I had no idea it was so much work to drive it!".

That ain't work, pal. Not to me. Bad habits? Nah, I don't think so.
