His work will live on forever
I have been busy all day and just found out that the King of Kustom George Barris passed away today. George picked the 54 Motorama as his celiberity choice a award at this years Corvette Funfest at Mid America in Effingham IL. He and I talked for a while and I could tell that there was something other then age wrong with George, but what a guy to talk to. He made some of the most famous cars in the world. He will be missed by many.

RIP, George. Been following his work since I was about 5 years old, 50 years ago. On a plus note, he was neck deep in the car hobby until the very end....very inspiring, and a life well lived.

D@mn - I must have built at least a hundred or so model kits of his cars when I was a kid.
RIP, George!

He has done more for customizing cars then many others. His work will not be forgotten. RIP George :sad angel: Dennis

My neighbor's friend dated his daughter. As a gift George sent my neighbor an autographed copy of his book King of the Kustomizers "the Art of George Barris".
RIP George

All the usual comments . . . a legend, larger than life, whatever else you can think of to say. Truly the King of the Kustomizers. R.I.P., George - and thanks for the ride.

Sad news. I just hope he was able to whisper to his family where he hid the Little Bastard before he passed.

He was a great guy and a very creative designer. He will be missed. He is part of the greatest generation and lived a long and productive life.
My mother just passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 91. She lived a great life right up until the end.
RIP
