Easy Rhino nailed it. The rub is, there is the illusion of enough to restore here, the promise of something great, but the reality is it's 20 years too late for that. I knew a similar guy (also a hoarder, though he thought of himself as a restorer) who had a huge 45X75 shop, but it was filled with wood scraps, old newspaper, and old television sets. The classic cars and equipment sat outside. After 40+ years, at the time of his passing, it had all turned to scrap metal. Of course, the mid '70's RCA television cabinets and old newspapers were still in pretty good shape, except for a few rat droppings....

He realizes that he waited too long to sell these and your right it would take a labor of love to tackle one ! I agree it's too late on some but there bound to be some value on some of them and trying to find that value is where he's at .

The '55 Pontiac at $2500 is looking like the best deal of the bunch.

Default prices on Corvettes per cars owner

72 Corvette coupe $8500
54 Corvette $19,000
82 Corvette Collectors Edition $15,500
It may take a while for him to adjust his prices to the market value but eventually I hope he finds it . Till then this is a start.
If interested in any of these cars or the others pm me or text 606 975 6317 and I'll set up a time you can meet with him or leave a number and I'll make sure he gets it for a call back .... JM and thanks for all help !

I agree that's the same conversation my son and I had . It has surface rust but overall survived pretty fair being exposed to the elements as long as it has plus the stock interior is still there including the seats . As you know most have been used for tri fives . Thanks for your positive post .

Thanks for sharing this post, I think I am going to use it to get a couple of folks I know that won't sell, off their stuck position. So sad to see all the lost potential value, years of his life lost to dreams. Carpe Diem as they say, Brian

May I upload more pictures of the other cars ? I'm getting several request . I'm not too tech savvy and this forum is generating a lot of interest. How about it moderators where do I go with this from here ? Don't want to break any rules and hope no one here minds . but I need help with the other remaining cars how can I get this on the c-3 forum and The For Sale areas of c1,2 and c3 ? It seems to have taken a different direction now that he's set prices ? And thanks to everyone for helping this longtime corvette / collector car driver in getting the word out I know he appreciates it !

Deal?????????? That's a stretch. Mostly junk. Very little value except to part out.

He is delusional. That is why he still has these cars. He has ALWAYS overvalued them & will only sell for more then they are worth. He is wasting your time & anybody else's who cares to "deal" with his lunacy.

Saying the '82 has low miles is like making the same claim about the Titanic. And the titanic was at least elegant when it was new.

I like the 72, but he is well over 2x overpriced making a lot assumptions about what's good.

We're all drawn like a moth to these threads and I should probably say thanks to the OP for posting!!!

Chatanooga, that Titanic analogy is brilliant....and dead-on. "For sale: luxury steamship, all the finest appointments, only one voyage on the clock. Ran when parked. 100 million OBO. Some work required." And as for the '82, my experience is that anything marketed originally as a 'collectors edition' never becomes one. I wish these cars luck, but IMO it is decades too late, and as SAG says, the cars have always been considered solid gold by the mis-guided owner. Neat post, hope to see more action on the cars one way or the other, though!

Really? I disagree. It's just one picture, but I don't see anything other than surface rust on the fenders, doors, quarters, hood, or roof. Even if the floors and frame are rotted out, it's much better than the '55 Chevy I bought for the same money 4 years ago for my gasser project. Mine is a rustbucket where the frame and front fenders got tossed away 1st thing. Lots of door, quarter, floor, and trunk work. I would have killed to have a body like that '55 Pontiac to start with. You don't often see a project '55 anything with that little rust on the body for that kind of money. While just about everything in this guy's possession is overpriced, I don't think this one is. Plus, '55 Pontiacs are harder to find in general.

Amazing!
Was the fellow who owned it able to see the restoration completed ?
If he is still alive, he probably would have enjoyed seeing it.

Just finished it a week ago but that’s my plan . I talked to him a year ago and invited him to view it any time . I’ve changed phones several times since then and lost his number . But still remember where he lives .
