Life happens. You might go through a change of pace financially, or even maritally, and the consequences wind up being the loss of a Corvette.

I sold off a few when I was younger. Paid $4500 for a '64 in '78. It was painted orange, had 4 small lip flares and a smogger 350, M-22 and 3,36's along with the L-60x 15's. It was put together out of several cars, but didn't really figure that out 'till later...and really didn't care. I had a Corvette! Built up the motor, raced and drove it everywhere. Sold it for profit...bought it back later...sold it....bought a black '65...sold it...bought a '71....traded it.....etc etc.
Best advice it to buy the best you can afford and keep it no matter what. You will most likely regret it and whatever money you get from it will be used for something not as fun..and certainly could have come from another source.
I'll keep playing with mine until I'm just not physically able.....

I have remorse and haven't sold my car. I'm thinking about it now. Had since 89 but I want a c2 with side-pipes a hotrod I can drive more.

I still have tears in my eyes when I think of the 63 Vert that I bought in 1969. Had it for several years and divorce forced me to sell it. Rode HD motorcycles for the next 50 years and I'm finally back in a Corvette, couldn't love it more. I'll never forget my 63.

Same issue here. Had my A body since the 90s restomodded it to (my) perfection. Only put 200 mi in 3 yrs due to a number of reasons.
Kinda need something I can take into work that runs hard but isnt so nice;get more enjoyment out of cant leave this one anymore takes the fun out of it.
If ya think ya want a perfect car think twice. I like to use mine not wax it and see it slowly decay

We traded in our '64 coupe to get a new '02 convertible to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. My wife regretted it for years and kept several pictures of it in our home office. She said it was her favorite Vette of the 8 we've owned, so I bought it back for her when the dealer put it up for sale almost 12 years later.

My first car ever was a '59. Sold that after 10 months because at that age I wanted acceleration and found a 1-owner '67 427/400 (Sunfire Yellow like "midyear"'s above but no side pipes). After a few years I had moved out of my parents place, the car needed work, and I had to pick between paying the rent and having a car to drive. So I sold it - for $2100.
Funny thing is, if somebody had a magic wand, I'm not sure which of those two I would take today. Each was great in its own way and I miss them both.

The one I regretted selling was a '67 black/ black 427/390 A/C coupe with a 3.08 gear. It had no power steering, brakes or Windows. Sold it in the mid 80's. As the ole saying goes "once they are gone, they are gone, no coming back." That is the one car I would love to have back.

Safety Car
When I was in high school in 1979, my neighbor across the street from me bought back a black 1966 C2 roadster he had sold five years earlier. I didn't know him when he first owned it, but he had always talked about it and regretted selling it.
Once he bought it back, he babied that car. I fell in love with it myself when I saw it parked across the street everyday. Since then it has always been my favorite corvette. He took me for a ride in it once. One day I'm going to buy one for myself. I just have never found one in "great" condition that I could afford. I have no desire in restoring one.

They can bury me in mine! I once had someone ask me what I'd sell it for and I said there's no price. His response was that surely I'd sell it for a million dollars and my response was the same...nope!
I know some can't understand that attitude but those with seller's remorse probably do, ...it's not always about the money.
