Default How far to take dash area rebuild

I bought my 66 about two months ago and have just been going through things in order to make it safe and reliable to drive. I have rebuilt the steering system from and including the steering gear to the horn button. It is still out of the car. The fuse block is cracked so I am replacing the main dash wiring harness. I am taking the dash cluster out to complete the wiring. The radio and speaker are out and being replaced with stock units. My question is, since I have quite a bit removed what other things should I do while I am at it. My final goal is to build a Top Flight car. Thanks in advance for your advice, it's much appreciated!

you might as well service the heater core and while you have all of that stuff out of the way, take the opportunity to restore the wiper motor, cause it is a bitch to get to those 4 little bolts that hold it to the firewall.

Well that about covers all the big things. But while your that far replace the firewall insulation/pad. Rebuild the cowl vent seals, go though your clutch and brake pedal box, and don't forget the wiper transmission.

Stop playing around and just take everything off the car and then take the body off the frame. That's the path to TF. Dennis

I always take them to this state. It's the only way to do it right.

Very nice! Some day I would love to go through my car as thoroughly as many of you. Hopefully in the near future I can make that happen! Thanks for the pic!
