Default Buying a new clutch--what to get?

I am going to do the clutch on the car--I have used center force clutches in other cars with great success--just wondering what to use on my 65 327/365? McLeod or just generic napa clutch?

thanks

I just installed a Luk in August. It is very smooth and easy to depress. I got it at the local Napa. I do not race the car and I have a 5 speed so I needed the 26 spline disc. I am very satisfied with it.

Hay Mark. I'm gathering all the parts needed to install a Richmond 5-speed with a 26 spline. What Luk part number did you purchase and did you replace your flywheel with a Luk LFW131?.

Why would you not use a Centerforce, since they've been a "great success" for you? I've used the same brand in several Sting Rays.

The Napa part number for the clutch kit is 1104019 and the throat bearing is N1488. The clutch kit comes with a throw out bearing but is powered metal and the CF guys did not recommend using it. I also recommend getting a new bronze pilot bushing from Autogear. My earlier clutch did not go bad. The pilot bearing failed that was installed 3 years ago with the 5 speed install. I was not going to use another pilot bearing.
Since I had it apart I put a new clutch back in and I am very pleased with the Luk. Just do a search on this forum for Luk and you will see the guys love this clutch. Good luck.

I did not use a new flywheel, I just had my old one turned. The part numbers I gave you are Napa numbers. I do not have the Luk numbers.
