Default 1966 Corvette Question

My buddy was approached by a friend that wants to sell his 1966. All I have are these pictures until he gets more information from the seller. What can you tell me from these pics?

A 66 L72 coupe that's white with blue interior and appears to had a body off restoration. Looks like a nice car. But need pictures of the vin, trim tag, engine stamp pad and any other numbers you got

I would say an early build date judging from the seat belt keepers

They did not make a 427/450 that year. Just a 427/390 and 427/425. I am going by the decal on the air cleaner. Am I missinformed?

Jack - The early hi horse 427's were actually listed as 450 horsepower for 66 models and afterwards the listing was 425 horsepower.

Very

The L-72 was rated at 450 for the first couple weeks of production until a internal order from GM to change the sticker to 425. Nothing was changed in the engine.

Did not know that the about the 450hp. I love this forum. I was going off of the info sheets on the web. No mention of the 450 thing that I could find.

I will post the trim tags and motor stamp when he gets them from the seller.

They are asking 115k.

I would say that for $115k he believes/knows it's a very nice, real, original motor L72. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean it is. Appears to be a nice car from the few photos.

The fuel line looks to have the bend a small block car would have.

I noticed something kind of funky with that. But if a SB fuel line were bent around to a 90 degree bend it would be way off in alignment with the fuel pump. But it kind of looks like there might be a rubber piece spliced in behind the bend(?) Hard to tell what's going on with it from pictures.

Be sure to look for previous body damage/repair, especially in the front. The fit and corners of the right headlight housing look a little weird.

Also, I see there's a giant stack of front end alignment shims in the rear position of the front upper A arm and no shims at all in the front position. That's usually a sign of a hard front hit.

Nice looking car though.

Nice car. The only thing odd to me is the right A frame has a boat load of shims.

For that money it had better have more than the original motor! Seems like full documentation is in order here. Nice pics though.

I've seen this before on some big blocks-frame sag due to the extra weight.
