Hello All,The corvette is finished.I would like to thank all the members who followed this build, and the forum for allowing me to do so.We did a few things since the last post. The seat belts, all the hard ware for the convertible top was sent to Dan's chroming and polishing I did buy trim parts latches and all the other parts associated that takes to latch the top.I was not happy so I returned all the parts to corvette america and had my originals re chromed. We went for a long ride yesterday our hair blowing in the wind listening to old 60's music. The radio I had converted to MP3 player made it nice. The car ran perfect, and handled nicely. The corvette is now sleeping until nice weather.

seat belts,white leather interior

My wife, helper, best friend Kathleen and our dog lacy

corvette with the top up

re chromed bumpers and new grille

re chromed rear bumpers new lights

Congratulations to you and Kathleen, it looks amazing! I love the white seats, but I have black because I'm a grub.

Glad your helpers were able to get some pictures taken with the car and that you were able to get some miles on it.

Dave, I was totally, and incorrectly it seems, skeptical on your barn find having a good outcome.

Your results speak for themselves. Your '65 is absolutely beautiful.

My hat is off to you.

Great job, thanks for inspiring the rest of us.

Dave, 1st thing that I need to say, fantastic job that you did bringing this car back from the dead!! You had mentioned that you have done 14 restorations, so I assume that you sell the cars when you are done with them? Financially, would you be able to re coup the money that you have put into this car?

Hello,When you love to restore cars like I do you have to find the right car for the right price or you will be in the hole before you start. This corvette was at the right price, and having a lot of contacts, like painter, part suppliers, friends and having a little knowledge and know how makes restoring a pleasure, and not a money pit.I don't count the many hours I spend on restoring I just enjoy bringing from the the dead to a running enjoyable ride.So the answer to your question will I get my money back sometimes I do.I never get the labor or the time and effort I spend on each rebuild. Its not a money thing its the love of restoring automobiles. Dave
