Is this a 1958 frame?
Hello all. I am intending to buy a 1958, apparently with modified steering box. But is this the original frame or does it sit on a different car frame. This is the only pic i have, and do not want to fly before i make sure the frame is original

Yaww - You're not giving us much to go on but it looks like a solid axle frame with an aftermarket (maybe Jim Meyer Racing) Mustang II front suspension. As to which particular year that frame is, can't tell you although I suspect they were basically the same for a large number of years up to 62. Someone else might spot something definitive for you.
Good luck and keep us posted if you do pick it up.

Post pics taken from engine compartment, looking down, on both side of the fan shroud.
On original front sway bar mounted on TOP of the frame, not underneath .
The original front cross member/control arm support, is gone.

I'm 99% sure that is a Jim Meyer IFS, which is a nice aftermarket piece. You need to look at the rear kickup to try to figure out if it is a 58 frame. A 58 frame would not have the bracket on top of the frame for the radius rod, this was not added until 1959:

A stock 58 frame would have this kind of bumper stop on the frame:

Of course, either of these could have been removed, especially if they added a Jim Meyer four bar rear setup. Really, on a modified car like this, it probably doesn't matter if this is not the original frame, as long as the VIN tag is good and matches the title. Lots of C1s have replacement frames.
I would ask why the speedo cable was dangling.
