Default Hey Jim Gessner

I saw your name in a new Z06 Corvette book I just got, you are listed in there as Calibrator. Is that you are someone else?

If you, What did you do on the new car? What is a calibrator?

Hi Doug,

Can you elaborate on the "new Z06 corvette book" you mention? There has been a rumor for many years of a 1963 Z06 book in the development stage.

Thank you,
Rick

C7 Z06, something Chev published.

Saw the name of Jim Gessner and wondered if there was a correlation, or someone else by the same name.

There's only one Jim Gessner in the Corvette world and he's one he11 of a great guy. He has hooked me up with Corvettes in the past.

Default Wow ! Kudos

This is all new to me. As many know, I moved to Texas last October and have been busy with the relocation.

I am not familiar with the book or the name ''correlatior'.

Yes I have studied 1963 Z0-6 history, and may have knowledge about the car more than an average Corvette enthusiast. I always love the ''hunt'' and discovery of these neat cars.

I appreciate your comments and would love to find out more about ''the book''

Default Contributor is correct term

TONY AVEDISIAN and many Corvette owners of 57 AIR BOX vars and 63 Z0-6 Tankers attended ''THE BIRTHDAY PARTY'' in January 2014 in Carpinteria, California at my friend Ed Wittwer's shop on the 101 Freeway.
Ed and I are long time Corvette friends, and our birthdays are Jan 5 and Jan 6, same year. The BIRTHDAY PARTY was our celebration from Thursday January 9, 2014 thru Saturday evening January 11, 2014.
Thursday was a meet and greet session so everyone can get their bearings. Dinner will be on your own, but we have many good restaurants to recommend. Lunch will be provided daily at the shop.
Our daily schedules will begin at 9:30am at the shop and go until 5:00 pm if needed.

Friday will be dedicated to 1957 AIR BOX CARS. KEN KAYSER was the guest speaker
We have the Black #4007 BILL HOWE car to inspect. Another Air Box 57 car sold new at C.S. Mead Chevrolet, Pasadena may be presented by its original owner since 1959.

Saturday, we will inspect four 1963 TANKERS, and a bonus 1964 Z0-6 optioned tanker. TONY AVEDISIAN and DAN DEVITO were the morning seminar experts and did a fine presentation on 1963 Z0-6 CORVETTE production Tony's book is based on this event and ''sharing'' that took place this weekend
CORVETTES PRESENTED;

1.-The silver / black Z0-6 vin # 8467 Matt Rauen / Danny Collins racer from Denver, Colorado
2.-The restored white / saddle leather Z0-6 vin #15092 from Ernie Porter Chevrolet, Pasadena, California that was discovered in Illinois in June 2004.
3.-The silver red Z0-6 unrestored vin #8915 from Ron Tonkin Chevrolet, Portland, Oregon.
4.-The only air conditioned manual trans 63 tanker vin #17034 silver/ black ever made.
5.- A bonus is the 1964 Black Silver Z0-6 options tanker vin #12131 with only 12972 documented miles.

IT WAS A GREAT PARTY WEEKEND. TONY'S BOOK IS THE RESULT OF FRIENDS SHARING HISTORY

Default The book

THE DEFINITIVE 1963 CORVETTE RPO Z06
BOKROPZ06 Be the first to review this productIN STOCK

by Tony Avedisian and Gregory R. Keith
As a sportscar, the Chevrolet Corvette has been raced since it first entered production in 1953. But, the first Corvette production competition package was introduced in 1963 with the offering of Regular Production Option Z06, Special Performance Equipment. RPO Z06 was intended to be an off-the-shelf car that would be competitive on any race track in the world. With only 199 units produced, today the 1963 Z06 is a relatively rare and very desirable car. This book provides an overview of the development of the 1963 Z06 and a detailed description of all the unique mechanical components that were included in the RPO. This information would be of interest to any Corvette Enthusiast. It would be of particular interest to anyone doing serious research intended to assist with a preservation , restoration or purchase. The legacy of the 1963 Corvette Z06 is maintained today through the success of the Chevrolet Corvette Racing Team. It is only fitting that the team cars today honor history and still wear the same numbers as the Corvette Z06s used at Daytona in 1963 as illustrated on this book's cover.

Hardcover; 411 pages.

And some really, really nice cars there, especially that 1964 Black Silver Z0-6 options tanker vin #12131 with only 12972 documented miles, and that restored white / saddle leather Z0-6 vin #15092 from Ernie Porter Chevrolet, Pasadena, California that was discovered in Illinois in June 2004. I know them well........
