Default 67 Restomod at Barrett-Jackson

I thought this car would have gone for a lot more than $117K this evening at Barrett-Jackson. It certainly cost more than that to build.

Looks like a super nice car other than the Hendrick Motorsports ads all over the engine compartment.

What do people think?

I was thinking the same thing especially since there was plenty of money in the room when it went off.

I dunno. That 1/4 million dollar 57 T-bird ahead of it might have sucked all the oxygen out of the room temporarily.

Exterior looks great, but boring interior with those stock C5 seats and all black. They look used. Could have done better than those flat metal engine covers. Go to the link above and see similar cars for sale at Palm beach posted on the right. Now that's a cool car.

That car was parked next to mine all week. The engine compartment wasn't very nice. Electrical tape wraped around wiring. Cheap clamps to hold wiring in place. When they started it belt would let out a scream. But for what it sold for it could all be fixed.

The television cameras and auction hype do a very good job of hiding all of that which totally supports the advise of before you buy you need to see it with your own eyes. Thanks for the review.

Like many (most?) celebrities, they look a lot better on TV where the views are controlled, and the close ups are managed carefully.
