HRTH Radir's have true 'street cred'. Excellent movie, as well!

Here are the 15x8 wheels from '69 painted black (like the 67 brochure was photo-touched to look like). I've never liked the sliver painted wheel. Tried painting them Marlboro Maroon, but didn't like that either. IMHO, the black looks just right with the black stinger--------who needs bling when the hood says 427?
Yes, the lips are trimmed, but the body accent line was maintained. Even Larry Shinoda liked it when I showed it to him.

If I was putting some aftermarket wheels on the '65, I would go with a "period correct" wheel.....I put the Cragar 610G on my '51 Chevy....love em. Dont get dirty as the spokes are a pewter colored painted surface that still looks "natural" that dont allow dirt or grime to get into the metal (like on rough textured finish mags). Quick wash and they look new. Lots of complements on these too.

Car was built to fit the wheels because we wanted wheels to have more hoop showing. It's not a wheel I'd use on a stock body Vette. It's a wheel in my eyes at least that I would not buy over 18.0" in dia. 20.0" and it gets to out of proportion and tire's side wall even in 28.3" dia is to narrow for it mass. It is a massive wheel. Used taller dia tires 26.0" on front and 28.3 on rear so they can be tucker up under the body 1.0" and still have decent ground clearance.
What I'm saying goes the same for the wheels in Post 82. At 20.0"s the spokes get to long for center design.
The wheels on car I'm building now where the only ones I could fine that look right for car design. I would have gone with 18.0" rims except for limited tire dia and tread width choices in 18's.
So I build car to fit 28.0" dia 20.0" rims on back and used 26.0" on front, rather than the 26.0" dia rears and 24.0" dia fronts C6/C7 tires.
Again to achieve both 1.0" tire up inside body and still give me decent ground clearance. Also, C2's where designed for 27.0" dia tires so I'd rather have the tire 1/2 closer to edge of wheel well opening rather than 1.0"more open space between wheel well lip and tire. More or less fill up the wheel well.
But I'm probably the only Fool that would try and make a 2 1/2" body flared 1/4 give the allusion it has less flare than a 1 1/2 flared one...LOL
