September 2013 I was not in the market at all for a 63 SWC. A friend mentioned his brother in law had one in Chicago that he offered to sell him but he was not interested. I asked the price and he told me so I told him to get me his info. He did and I was on my way in 2 days. When I saw the car I could not believe it. Paint was great with the exception of about 4 paint bubbles around the gas cap area and 2 on the hood it was perfect. Had a frame off restoration in 2008 with pictures of rust free frame and birdcage and all complete new front and rear suspension. All new interior. 300 HP 4 speed but NOM engine out of another period correct corvette. Everything else original......could not pass it up...29,500 and he shipped it to me. Long story but thought you all might like it.

Bought my first Corvette in 1962 , a 58 for $2000.00. Sold it to my brother in 1962 for $1900.00, hey he was my brother.
Bought a 54 Corvette project in 1992, put a V8 in it, painted it silver anniversary colors, black interior, black Hartz cloth top. Sold it in 1993 for $42000.00.
Bought a numbers matching 67, L79 in 1997 for $21,000.00 horrible looking Goodwood green paint, B/C never sanded. Sanded and buffed it sold it for $41,000.00 in 1999.
Wish I still had them all.
Still got my favorite, a Almond Beige/Red 62

I like your Buick story also.
I will add I bought my 66 in 2006 for $13,500 after pestering my friend to sell it to me for 10 years. It has rust but was almost all original and needed everything. Back then the market was on fire and cars were through the roof for price and this was a good deal. 2 years later I could have bought a nice rust free driver for the same price but we do the best we can every day.
In 1974 I looked at a 67 427 4 speed in really nice shape for $1,500.
Insurance man would not talk to me for coverage. I think that one was at 80,000 miles.
Then found a 1970 Baracuda 383 4 speed factory air and power steering car for $1,600, same deal, my insurance man ( State Farm)would not cover me and that car had 32,000 original miles and I knew the original buyer.
Ended up buying a 71 Nova SS with the 350 and auto trans for $1,350, our insurance company considered that a family car since it had an automatic and insurance was affordable. I was 17 years old at the time. Although I wanted the Vette a lot the Baracuda still has me wishing I could have swung that deal. It was like brand new.

All complete and working, 300 HP. Frame and bird cage excellent shape body removed and chassis restored. Drives as nice as it looks.

I have owned a ton of Corvettes, 30 at least if not more. I have paid anywhere form $7000.00 for my first 1977 Corvette to about $50K for some of my others. I have owned about 7 or 8 1954 Corvettes and at one time I owned 7 1963 SWC at one time and now I have no 63 SWC. That is life but I do own my 1954 Corvette Corvair Motorama Car Recreation and my 67 Sunfire Yellow Coupe with 15K mls. and a 64 Corvette Vert Grand Sport replica that is F/S. Here are the 3 that I own now.
I am not telling how much is in the Motorana Car. My wife don't even know.

Not too much at all. I had the bubbles repaired and they came out great. The owner who restore it put the seats in a soft cloth material which looked really good but I had the correct vinyl put back in.Replaced the aluminum script valve covers with original covers. That's about it. I stored the original hub caps and wheels and put on the AR torque thrust with the new tires as you see it now. Everything else remains the same. It's an early 63 produced Jan 5 1963. I just drive and enjoy it.
