I've had 17 Corvettes since the late 70s. The reason I've continued to buy cars as I've always wanted to try different cars/models/generations/colors that I hadn't owned. As an old fart I've now purchased the 2 years/models I liked the best over the years.
So, to answer the question, no I've never had any interest in buying something I've moved on from, but I will say prior ownership taught me what I liked the best in Corvettes.
I would not buy any of the cars I used to own if given the chance. Been there, done that.

I now have bought back my 66 427/425 convertible 4 separate times. I first bought the car in 1970 from my good friend and then sold it back and forth with him over the years. The last time I sold it to him was in 1985 and he drove it 300 miles that year and then parked it in his garage.
In 2005 with the urging of my grandson's I tried to buy it back but he said (he)"wanted to keep it".
Him and I meet for lunch once a month and every month I would ask him about the car and every month he said "no". In December of 2006 he became ill so I no longer would ask as I respected his condition. In July of 2007 while eating lunch he asked "well do you want to buy the car back ?" stunned by his question I asked the reason for selling and he replied "his wife told him she wanted a divorce the night before". Two hours later the car was back in MY garage where it will always be as long as I am alive. HAPPY ENDING!

I haven't bought back my 65 convertible, but I'd do it in a heartbeat if it were available. It was a very well done big block conversion using 66/67 radiator support and radiator, and had an Ecklers one piece hand laid front clip to fix accident damage. It was a perfect daily driver and would be a great candidate for a Merlin 540 or 555 and a Tremec 5 speed.

I have a buddy in Texas that has bought, sold and bought back a '65 convertible. The last time he bought it back, he traveled from Texas to the East coast to get it back. It's probably a keeper now as he is doing a little updating.
I've only bought back one car I ever got rid of. It was a bad mistake to get rid of it and it wasn't a Corvette.

Just the opposite I bought and sold a 67 from the same guy three times. I made money each time, but after third time I told him to keep it this time or I would sell it to someone else.

No. But the previous owner of my 62 ask about buying it back everytime he happens to see the car.
I would like to buy back my 65 Chevelle SS that I had to sell in 1966 because Uncle Sam called.

Just do what I do, never listen to your wife and do what's makes you happy.
Isn't the old saying, "happy husband, happy wife"? Something like that.
Seriously, if you can find it and are able to buy it back I would in a heartbeat.
