Have you ever bought back your Corvette
Have you ever sold your Corvette and wish you had not sold it so after a period of time you bought it back? I sold my 63 SWC silver/ dark blue to a cousin only because he bugged me for a long time to buy the car from me. After about 3 yrs. he called me and asked if I wanted to buy it back because they did not have time to drive it. Yes I bought it back. Now a couple years ago I sold my 67 Sunfire Yellow/Black Coupe only to make room for my 54 Motorama Car when it was finished but I wished I had never sold it in the first place, now I am thinking about trying to buy the car back because I just loved that car and it had everything I always wanted including original side pipes etc. etc. Am I crazy for wanting to buy it back. My wife says once you sell a car it should stay sold and you should not buy it back, what do you all say??

I sold my first vette, a 65 327/350 roadster in 1980, after I had totally restored it and driven it as daily driver for 7 years. Sold for $8500, thought I made a killing! New owner offered to sell it back about 8 months later, and I couldn't justify it as we were starting a family. Car changed hands over years, but stayed in area. Fast forward to late 1990's, found current owner and my wife tried to buy it back numerous times, but he wouldn't sell. Biggest regret of my life as far as cars go. Sad thing is owner at that time never took it out of garage.

Sold my 67 Coupe in 1986 because my wife wanted a new Kitchen. I had completely/totally rebuilt the engine and chassis. The body needed paint and wasn't bolted down tight. A year later I regretted selling. Fast forward to 1998. After changing hands twice I had become friends with the current owner for a number of years. During that period I battled Multiple Cancers, (1994-1998). I was offered the car back fully finished. I took it and it will go to one of my sons one day in the future. Al W.

Sure, I sold my 435 HP '67 Conv back around 1974 during the BIG gas crunch. At the time it was my only car and I was commuting 100 miles a day round trip to college. (I ended up buying a corvair) !
The '67 was abused by the young kid (whose mother bought the car for him) and he eventually parked it next to his house to slowly sink into the dirt.
I would have bought it back but the guy was such an AH he'd rather see it turn into junk than admit he couldn't afford it any more. Bob C

Sold my '64 twice. First time, the guy I sold it to traded it to a car lot. It was stolen off the lot and was found trying to get smuggled into Mexico. No one had changed the title over and Police called to say they found my car! I ended up buying it back from the car lot. They had smoked the clutch and broken a hedlight bucket because they didn't know about the toggle switch to roll the lights up. I had a pretty nasty 350 in it and later a guy wanted it so I swapped in a 350 out of a '68 SS Camaro I had bought and kept the nasty motor. The guy painted it...and then later sold it again. Would be fun to see it again but who knows where it went.

I have a reverse type story on mine. I bought my '66 L79 convertible in 2000 and within 4 months, the guy I bought it from called me and wanted to buy it back. I told him "not a chance", but if I ever decided to sell it, I would give him first chance to buy it. I'm still not interested in selling it.

Never done it, but I'd buy back most of the Corvettes I've owned. A couple of them I'd really like to buy back. If you know where your '67 is, you're lucky.
Maybe some people assume that we only sell our cars because they're not such great cars. With old Corvettes that's seldom true.

We traded in our '64 coupe to buy a 2000 convertible for our 35th wedding anniversary. My wife regretted it soon after, as she said it was her favorite of the 8 that we have owned. Eleven and a half years later the dealer, who kept our car for his own, called us and said that he was going to sell it, so I went and bought it back for my wife. She said it's never getting sold again until we can no longer drive it.

No.
But I've had a seller try to buy back a car I bought from him a few months after the sale!

I had a Firebird that was my first nice car and I had it painted, put in new carpet and tons of sweat equity to make it shine. It was only a v6 and I sold it for my ss Camaro. Reading meters one day I ran across it and smiled when I saw it. I walked over to it and could have cried once I saw how bad it was abused. The image I can't get out of my mind is the ash tray over flowing with butts. I'm not selling anything unless I have to now.

Bought my 1972 LT-1 convertible new, drove it for a few years, then decided to get married and start a family. Not much room in the budget at that time for a Corvette - you know, saving for a house, having 1 - then 2 - then 3 sons. I would see the car once in a while in the years after I sold it. It still looked good, and was well cared for by the rich young kid I sold it to.
Fast forward to 2006. The kids are all grown, out of college, and married with families of their own. My wife said one evening, "Well, I think it's time for you to buy a new Corvette. Don't you?". And I did . . . but if I could have found that '72 LT-1, I would have bought it back in a heartbeat. Lost track of it over the years, and ended up buying a 1962 a few years ago to go with the 2007 convertible. Keep your eyes out for an Elkhart Green / dark Saddle interior 1972 LT-1 convertible. I'm still interested.

In the early 80's I had a '69 gold 435 4 speed coupe. I had 7000.00 in it and thought I made a killing selling it for 10,500 after only having it for a few months. I wish I had it back, but probably couldn't afford it now!

I sold my 66 BB coupe in the late 70's for 5 grand, it had new paint and ran prefect. That evening the new owner wanted his money back...his wife thought it was too much money!!!!!!I went and picked up the 66 and put it away. the next morning they came and bought it back again. I was in progress of moving and had to sell it.
