You know what they always say when they see these window stickers... "$4,522.37??? I'll give you that for it right now... ha ha ha!"

I told him, "listen, if you give me $4500 CASH right NOW you can have the car. No checks, no credit cards, $4500 US Dollars. Of course, MOST people don't carry that kind of cash on em' especially in Germany (He may have had Euros, but not Dollars). He said, well, I'd have to go to the bank...
"NO deal, then", I said, "Has to be US Dollars right now." I followed up with, "Now you can tell all your friends back in the States that you could have bought a 67 Corvette Convertible if you had had $4500 on you".
Too funny, I've heard this same comment numerous times myself.

The few shows I go to, I just bring a chair. However I think the reproduced window sticker would be cool, so I'd also like to know where to get one.

I got my repro window sticker here: https://www.window-sticker.com/

I also made a small (8x11) sign that explains the 1-family history, original paint, etc. of my car. Small, easy, and a good conversation starter.

I have a 20x30 poster that I put on my windshield and hold in place with my windshield wipers. It has a few car facts, a repro copy of the window sticker and some pics of things I have restored. I think it's about the right size, it can be read easily when approaching the car and usually draws a few comments.

John - as many times as I (and others) have looked at that, you're the first one to pick up on the typo. Thanks and back to the drawing board.

Good eye for detail John!

I remember having a good laugh when a guy proudly showed my his Corvette tattoo.. and I told him "the checkered flag goes on the other side"..

(I realized it swapped at some point - but the look on his face was priceless)

This guy had quite the drive-in display at Carlilse. Only problem was it was not kid friendly. Luckily, nothing happened or fell.

I like a showboard that lists interesting details of the car. i don't need to see a list of every option. A SHORT paragraph about the car's history is cool too... but not too much. My biggest peeve of all time is a showboard with a photo of the car on it. Why do i want to look at a photograph of the car sitting right behind the sign?

Those window stickers are a barrel of laughs. People can't believe you paid extra for "Permanent Antifreeze", radios and heaters. I've seen it all, including the guy that takes 10 minutes taking every trophy his car has won and placing them along the front of the car. Really pal, I got rooms full of those things.

One old guy at an airstrip pulled out two complete flagpoles, with large American flags, on weighted stands and placed at the front of his Studebaker...wind picked up and one nearly blew over on to my car. No bigger patriot than me but I told him to take the damn things down.

The clip on Shoney's/Hot Shoppes metal door tray with the fake hamburger and fries on it ? Please...it looks like some tacky real estate agent's open house staging.

I've seen easels, speakers, velvet rope poles, canopies, drinks, tape measures, cell phones, coolers, kids, umbrellas and a large tree branch hit cars at a show. Very rarely the items belong to the car that gets hit. Seen more than one fist fight too. Oh, also saw a golf cart driver pass out and floorboard it mowing down half a row of swap spaces & people.

Last summer, I was at my son's MOPAR club show with his two show cars. Gusty wind blew up, and he and I grabbed onto the canopy he'd put up, but the next canopy over, blew right into a really really nice show car. I felt horrible for the guy.

Guess the lesson is to never leave your canopy alone. When you leave to walk around, lower your canopy.

I would think the bigger lesson is to never park near a canopy.

Except that the canopy gets put up way after you've already "set up" your stuff, and you're stuck there for the show.
