What type of cleaner do you guys use on your red line tires?
Thanks.

Hi Dan, I'm a simple man. I use Comet.

Diamondback recommends Simple Green. I dilute it a little and use it in a squirt bottle. Use it on cool or cold surface with a soft bristle brush, keeping the surface wet, and rinsing thoroughly immediately after cleaning.

I have been wanting redlines without realizing they would be something else to clean.

They are as easy to clean as the blackwall. After the first scrub, you only need to brush with the car wash soap to keep them clean, unless you're driving in hot tar, or scrubbing them on something.

I need tires this spring and I want gold lines for my '66. However, the wife and kids say I need to stay with white walls.

If I let them have a say, I won't hear about spending the money...

I suppose there are worse problems to have.

Bleche White and a soapy Brillo. Finish with some 303 Aerospace Protectant for a nice matte finish.

If you have older tires with stained whitewalls that are already showing micro-cracking from age and the use of things like bleach-white, I say keep using it, that is what I do among my 8 cars with white walls.

But if you buy a new set of colored-wall tires, do not use anything other than something along the lines of Simple Green and do not use any abrasives, no comet, no Brilo SOS or steel wool. This will allow you to keep them looking new much longer. Coker & Diamondback will tell you the same.

303 Aerospace is very good stuff, looks great on tires and even better on the black portion of the instrument panel. That stuff is pure gold.

Simple Green on my redlines and Mop-n-Glo for tire shine. I save my 303 for the top and interior.

I have 5 different cars all with DB tires. 2 have gold lines and the other 3 have white walls. I have forgotten who I asked at DB about cleaning and treating/preserving them but that's what he told me. Simple Green and Mop-n-Glo and not to use any abrasives. It took my wife a while to find some Mop-n-Glo. It's not readily available around here any more apparently.
