Vendor for 64 convertible top
Looking to purchase a new correct black top with new everything excluding the frame. Top, tack strips, weather strip, hardware, etc.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray

And depending on how correct you want to be, he also offers it in the "Stayfast" material. I think it looks spectacular...

Again, I'm not sure what you mean by correct, but just ordering a Knoch top doesn't necessarily mean it's not going to get by NCRS because the standard version doesn't cover the same areas as the factory top.

If you call Knoch direct and ask them, they will know what you're asking for. Once you know the difference it'll **** you off they sell the stock version.
Same thing with their carpet kits - the grain runs the wrong direction.

On the correct version, the top material extends down further to cover the weatherstrip, and the part over the windshield header covers more.

Sucks, now that it's been ordered. Correct is correct. period. My car has a few GM upgrades, and personal touches, but when the word correct is used in this business/hobby, it has a specific definition. At least I thought so.

That's right - thanks John.
I'm an NCRS novice, I do not even own a convertible, but I do own a C2 and a C3. I've been to a few chapter and regional events, and one national. When you go you can attend judging schools and you can watch cars being judged. That's how I learned about these tops.
If you love Corvettes and related trivia, it's extremely worthwhile.

But, I've never seen anything that says AK's standard top pattern is less correct. Maybe Woodsdesign will weigh in.
BTW, I wanted a "buckskin" color rather than "tan" so I went with a Robbins top. Went on just fine.

From what I have read, the John Kennedy pattern adds a little material in critical areas to make the top easier to install. Installing Al's standard pattern is like putting on a new conga drum head. Watch his video and you'll see what I mean.
