Rocker panel front mounting brackets
Hi all,
I'm in the process of returning my 1966 AO smith built coupe to as close to original as possible. The side exhaust that was added at some point will be the first thing to address, I am replacing it with an under car exhaust system.
I will be replacing the front fender tabs that were cut off and need to attach the rocker panel front mount brackets to the new tabs. Does anyone have a picture of the factory rivets that were used to attach the brackets? I will probably never NCRS this car but would like to attach the brackets as the factory did.
the brackets can be seen in the first photo in this thread. They are near the bottom right in the photo.: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...epipe-car.html
Thanks!
-Michael

The brackets were weled to the bottom of the bird cage rocker channel. Difficult to do with the body on the frame but it can be done

Michael,
I think that you are asking about the fiberglass protrusion in the front and the bracket that retains it. Attached is a picture from the 67 JG of the NCRS (those vile, nasty, old, out of touch, arrogant, etc. people). Hopefully this will help, since all the nice, humble, with it, and congenial people seem to not have the answer. The picture in the lower right on the page should help.

Michael,
They are just pop rivets used to attach those brackets. If there is a part # in the AIM that may give you a idea of there length but you can probably figure it out.
