Did you paint or Powder Coat the frame and other parts? Powder Coating is well worth the few extra bucks.

I powder coated the frame, control arms and a few other small parts, painted everything else.

They aren't real but they are built to work like a 270 set up.

Make sure that you follow the sequence of steps before you do the body drop.

Firewall insulation
Steering column -- As you slide the column through the firewall, slide on the soft and hard seals before putting it through the dash hole.
Install the speedo cable before the body drop

Radiator installs AFTER the body drop.

Looking good!

Thanks, the steering column could be a problem. When I pulled it out I heard the shims, rings and other assorted items hit the floor boards. I'm kinda lost but confident...... I've got it ready.

Very nice build so far. Keep the pictures coming.

Are you planning on using a mechanical fuel pump on the 283? If so, does your frame have the V-8 fuel pump clearance indentation?

No, I haven't notched the frame.... The car was V-8 powered when I bought it, probably been that way most of its life. The frame was not notched, I'm beginning to rethink my decision not to notch the frame....

It may be OK as is. I would suggest installing the engine without the fuel pump, and then see what clearance you have.

I don't know if anyone makes fuel pumps that are physically smaller, but I know that some pumps have bigger dimensions than others.

Great rebuild effort, keep us posted.
