"TQ" What Brand And Number Paint For The...
1965 Dash Cluster. Just finished pulling my Cluster as I'm doing the Dakota Digital Direct Fit Gauge assembly. The Cluster face needs a repaint.
What would you suggest or what does NCRS suggest? What Mfg and Part Number? Also...What method to use to cover the Bright Rings and Lettering around the Gauge faces to prevent spraying them Black. Tape or some other nifty trick.
Thanks In Advance

Long Island Corvette sells a Gauge Cluster black paint, just for refinishing mid-year clusters.
Why don't you call Steve Russ, and see what he uses to mask them. Steve has restored a few of them, over the years.

Sem trim black or Krylon #1613 satin black.
Thanks Guys for your input...I have already emailed him to see what he would suggest....But hearing back might take a few days.. He's a One man operation... Ya gotta wait till he fits you in.

He'll send me a text looking for a part or asking a question, and I'll get right back to him, then it will be 3-24 hours before he acknowledges my response.
I can't really complain though. If I call him, he picks up about 75% of the time, which is probably 75% more often than he answers other people's calls.
Besides being a good customer, I consider Steve a good friend, and I'm in complete awe of both his talent, and energy.

Yeah He's the best.. Takes a while but with what he's got on his hands and being a one man shop I can deal with it. Registered for the 2016 "Beach Bums Corvette Show" on Long Beach Island. So I'll see him there with his 65 Blower car. That's the only time it goes out once a year.
Maybe I'll see you there... You better sign up now if you want a spot.
Here's a Link to his site on Face Book...My Car is way down at the bottom.. I'm sure maybe you have seen this before... Some really nice work. Takes a while to get your car back but worth the wait.

I know Steve's 65 well. This picture was taken 5 or 6 years ago at the Beach Bums show, but I remember the car 20 years ago, before the blower when he "only" had a tunnel ram on it.

I'll be there. but probably not with a car. I'm always one of the show sponsors, and will have my parts trailer there again this year.
