LS motor and t56 trans. Stock trans mount location still work?
Hi all, I am looking into buying a ls2 with a gto t56 trans. For those who did the swap into stock chassis did you have to change the motor mount or trans mount locations? What I am trying to figure out is if I go with a gto t56 (which puts the shifter slightly farther away than a camaro t56) will it work or do I need to go with the camaro t56 trans? Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time!

I can tell you that the "Stock location" mounts is not true.

absolutely. 6 speeds is overkill for any decent size V8. The T56 was original in my '03 cobra, but 5th gear gets used only when steady cruising at about 30 mph. Most times I just skip from 4th to 6th.
