1966 Corvette build sheet
My friend just purchased a 1966 Corvette. I suggested to him that he obtain a build sheet. I think the Corvette Museum can supply them for your VIN numbered car. He just came back to me and said build sheets were not available due to a fire in St. Louis that destroyed them.
Does anyone know anything about this? Are build sheets available for a 1966?

No, and they never were - tank stickers didn't start until the 1967 model year, and the data doesn't exist to re-create a wholesale dealer invoice prior to 1977. The Corvette Museum can only supply copies of the original build sheet for Corvettes built at Bowling Green.

About the only thing he can get is through the NCRS. If he supplies them with his VIN they likely can provide him with the information on which dealer his car was delivered to and the date it was delivered. The fee for this service is $40.
