Default NCRS specialists help please!!

im trying to figure out if this 1963 coupe has its original motor.
block casting date code is C 7 3 and car assembly date is mars 12 according to F0312RE and body build date is G
question is is it possible that the block has only 5 days between its fabrication date and the assembly date?

F0312RE is the engine build date. The CAR build date is Gx. "G" stands for March 1963. You need to provide the "x". It is the week of car production for the 1963 model year. Probably a 3 or 4. Or just provide the VIN.

Five days from engine block casting to engine build is typical for small blocks.

All the judge wants to see what trans is under the car. I'm one of the more young and skinny judge in my chapter and I still can't get under the car enough to read those numbers. I can look under and see if it's a B/W, Muncie, or a auto.

It's a B'W assembly date March 23, 1963 second shift so it looks like it's late for your car date wise. If it's close ratio then perfectly acceptable.

FWIW, my 63 engine has a J192 (October 62) casting and a 10/22 assembly so your engine sounds fine to me.

No problem, I've seen a lot of them within ONE day.

Not a problem. Blocks were cast & machined in Flint Mi. so there were just trucked across town.

Your transmission numbers don't make sense. The J317817 would be from a passenger car built at Janesville in early July, way past the changeover to Muncies.

My May 29th 63 has a Muncie 4 speed that is absolutely original to the car.
