65 Glove Bix Door Script
How is the glove box door "Corvette Sting Ray" script attached to the door? Mine still has rivets holding it together so I expect it has never been apart. Is it pins on the back of the badge or just double sided tape?
Thanks

The pictures I have saw on the Internet of the glove box inserts there are no holes in the area of the emblem for studs. So I could assume its held on by two sided tape

Original inserts do have pre-punched holes for the emblem pins, which are semi-tubular and roll-swaged over. Same with the door assembly itself -- what look like rivets are actually rolled-over tubular studs.
These no-hole faceplates are a generic 64-67 application -you drill the hole pattern you need.

The originals were not glued or taped. They had studs going through holes in the door and the ends of the studs peened. They have to be drilled out from the back side. If you buy replacement script, it usually comes with speed nuts to install:

Re-use the emblem
No need to spring for a new emblem. The studs have to be ground down flush to pop it off the old faceplate, but you still have enough length get it onto the new one. Then secure it with a drop of JBWeld on each stud end.

Thanks for the info! I suspected it was held on with some kind of stud arrangement. But like Keith I saw the repo parts and thought maybe it was double sided taped on.
Appreciate the help!

When I did the door on my car I VERY carefully drilled out the swedged part of the rivets from the back if the door to separate it from the compartment side. Then I installed a new insert and emblem, tapped the holes and used some tiny screws to reattach the door back with the door face.

That's better than the JB Weld because you can take it back off if you need to.
