'63 SWC being brought back to life
After a 18 month resurrection this car is being brought back to life. It's going to be unveiled at the NCM Bash on Friday morning in late April.
I realize this taste isn't right for everyone as it's a remarkable resto mod, although as you can see in these pics it was in very bad shape as a donor car. No drivetrain, tons of rust, missing interior parts, you name it, etc. Look like it had sat outside for 20 years. Going to be perfect for my family.
Car exterior and interior will look very much orginal except a couple items such as electronically controlled sidepipes, non 63 wheels and a couple other very minor tweaks. Car will be loaded with 2016 technology with items that can't be seen such as traction control. Going with GM create LS3 525 HP and 5 speed trans.
Car has been worked by Heartland Customs in Purcell, OK. "Worked" is a gross understatement as the car has benefited from phenomenal restoration efforts over every inch. Has been a great experience!
I'll update more pics after delivery. Here are some pics along the way to show how bad car was and the great work that is being done. Have over 300 pics throughout the restoration. A few to show starting point and progress.
Can't wait to see the finished product as this has been in the works for nearly 2 years since we first started looking for a donor car.
First day I saw car in AL. Supposedly had been here for 2-3 yrs but was in KY many years before this

Wow, what a tease! Looks like you have one beautiful '63 to show. It also looks like the shop specializes in Vettes. Dennis

Thanks John! Color is a custom PPG mix that builder does known as Pearl Merlot metallic. Looks about a mile deep and has great contrasts in the sun.

The surround of the glove box door looks like leather or is it paint? I can't wait too see the finished interior. Dennis

Dennis, the area around the glove box is textured then painted to better match the leather interior and alcantara single piece headliner.
All the windows and windshield trim pieces when the builder and I selected the donor car
After being repolished and buffed to a mirror finish. His guy did amazing work imo.
Will have sliding and reclining seats for improved comfort since it isn't an original restoration
Textured dash
