1962 Whitewall Size
What would have been the width of a whitewall on a '62 Corvette? Did all new Corvettes come with whitewall tires in that year?

No, whitewall tires were not standard on 1962 Corvettes. Cars that were ordered with them received tires from different suppliers, ranging (as abdo said above) from approximately 7/8" to a little over 1-1/16". These "narrow" whitewalls replaced the optional "old school" wide whitewalls the 1961 Corvette offered. I fitted my 1962 with tires with an approximate;y 1.3" whitewall . . . just the look I was going for.

All above is correct.. 62's had the first "skinny" whitewalls.. and whitewall tires were an upgrade option (shown on the sticker) on Vettes from that era.

Thanks. Coker has some radials in the correct size and correct whitewall (1") for about $150 each. Vendor Zip has some for about the same. Not sure of the manufacturer. I have some Diamondbacks on a '67 442 and a '65 Corvette coupe I own. I think Michelin made those. Any problems buying Coker tires for a vehicle that is going to be driven some?
