Default Oil pressure

66 l72 oil pressure reading 5 idle flat surface on a rear incline in the driveway reads 10-15, accelerating up to 20 pushes up to 40-60. Hard left turn no accelerating pegs to 80 hard right 0. Back to idle below 5, oil recently changed Under 100 miles and is full.

Is this the pump? Sending unit, gauge? Or combination?

How long ago since rebuild. Specs on crank, barrings, temp, type of oil all a factor

Pickup tube fell off?

Stick something in drain plug hole...screwdriver or wire to see if you can move it around.

I would also vote for pickup fell off from your test description.

In case you are wondering, pulling an oil pan on a BB is not too bad. You don't have to raise the engine or anything. The idler arm has to be unbolted from the frame and the steering link pushed down to make room for the pan to drop and remove. At worse, the front crankshaft counterweight may be an obstruction but it can be cleared by rotating the engine to move it out of the way.

as far as I know it is a bone stock rebuild in 09 with about 2k miles on it since then. Mobile one. But the pick up tube makes perfect sense I didn't even think of that. Thanks will have to wait a couple weeks til I get time.
