Default 3810 Carb date Code of 3025?

I have a 3810 carb for my 67 but the date code is 3025.

I bought it off eBay a while back not looking at the date code as the original carb was lost long ago.

Is this carb a replacement?

Ok. Thanks for the info. I will probably sell this one and look for the correct date.

Do you have any idea on value vs the correct carb?

The value is probably what you paid for it a while back. The correct carb usually sells for around a grand restored and ready to bolt on

Ok. I think I paid around $375. It was probably 5 years a go or more.

I probably paid too much. Was thinking I was buying the right thing. Seller was probably pretty happy

IMHO if that service dated carb is on your car and working fine with no problems I would leave well enough alone

It needs to be rebuilt. I had someone rebuild it but I think they just put gaskets in. It stumbles when rolling the throttle on and it always started like crap.

Send it to someone this time who knows what they're doing (Eric Jackson).

I actually sent him an email before I realized it was a replacement.

The car has the original motor and trans, so u was hoping to find the right carb, which I thought I did

I will probably send it off to him anyways. The rest of the car is not all original so Correct carb will not make a big value difference to the car.

I have a generic electric choke R1850 on it now and it runs perfect. I had a different front bowl put on so the original fuel line would work.

at John's recommendation I had a correct dated 3810 car restored/rebuilt by Eric and it has been great. In regards to a correct date, it is not a major hit if you are going to get your car judged. In fact when I got my car judged at the Michigan Chapter meet in 2007 a person now in the National Corvette Hall of Fame (not you John) even missed my service replacement dated carb. If you are looking for a correct date, keep an eye on Ebay as they come up frequently.

Thanks. The car was my father in laws. I did a body off restoration for him. He was not in good health so I did the frame and driveline as original as possible but the body and interior has a lot of repro parts, exhaust was changed back in the late 60's. Has 2 1/2" exhaust from a 62-65.

He wanted it how he had it as a kid. So that is how we did it. He has now passed and we inherited the car. Been in the family since 1969 or 70.

So the correctly dated carb is not a necessity. I will probably not have it judged. Sentimental value of having it how he had it is worth more to me.
