Default Weekend Photos!

The car is close to done and the driving is paying off in smiles. Friday my wife and I went to dinner in it, a hundred miles round trip. Saturday I took my son to a piano recital in it. Sunday I took him to a first grade class party where it was reunited with my buddy Boatguy95's car!

Life is good...

Benton

I am solely responsible for BoatGuys addiction! He bought his car a month or less before I was hit by the semi, now we can cruise!

Great job, Benton. I know you're just thrilled to be able to get back behind the wheel and drive her again. Did you get all your tuning issues worked out??

Very nice, Benton!

But you are supposed to put the headlights down for pictures!

Proud of you, Benton! It looks great. You've come a heck of a long way with it. And your wife's a beauty, too.

"Nope!" I'm chasing a hesitation just off idle that doesn't seem related to the pump. Oddly. Then it goes like stink. A few gaskets from the Chicago corvette kit on eBay were a poor fit and I think the primaries (while clean) aren't flowing freely as a result. I had to trim a couple. Bad news. Going to echlin / Napa this week.

Thank you ALL for the kind words! Gerry- the headlights are up because even though I rebuilt the motors and they were working pretty well last year the harness connections aren't registering great voltage so I ran them "up" all weekend...

Did you read the article (PDF) I sent you? I had a very similar issue that was resolved by installing lighter springs on my advance weights. You may, simply, be not getting enough mechanical advance off the line...just a suggestion.

I'll be honest Leif, I don't know! I will go back and revisit it! I have read so much over the last couple of weeks on and off- forum etc, my head is spinning.

I haven't changed the advance springs but I have set the carb with a squirt immediately when the throttle opens (on the pump) and the mixture screws are set to the best idle vacuum plus just "hair" richer.

I'm appreciative of what you've helped me with!

Benton

Your car looks awesome, and "Mrs. Benton" is lovely and ready for a night out after all that time you spent in the garage!

All the hard work has paid off and you're ready in time for summer cruising.

Benton, you have taken the bull by the horns, something that all of us hope we don't need to do. Glad to see such good work and the many smiles you and your family will enjoy. Now, go shift some gears. Dennis
