Cluster Bulbs
Might be a stupid question, but is there a LED option for cluster and clock bulbs? I pulled the cluster and clock today for Rick's Restoration to restore everything and install a quartz movement in the clock. I thought the cluster removal was going to be a real pain in the a$$, but it went pretty well. Also, has anyone used this? http://www.zip-corvette.com/63-67-c2...o-speaker.html

After Rick gets done with your culster you won't need LED's. Stock bulbs will be plenty bright

There was a detailed thread about this very topic less than a couple of weeks ago...you should try to find it... LED equivalents for all of the C2 bulbs were provided.

OK, that's good. I guess I'd like to get some feedback from someone that has done this. I don't want the bulbs too bright or too dim if you get my drift. Thanks guys

They are the only LEDs I would use. They worked great in my 62, and if I can find the thread, I will post a link. I know other forum members have used them in mid years.
Here is the link to the previous thread:

Here is another thread, talking about the LED bulbs, and includes where I detailed that I had to add a small glob of solder to each LED bulb, in order to ensure electrical contact. Since my electrical harness was replaced by a previous owner from an unknown source, I don't know if this is "normal" or not (see post #23, plus you might have interest in the rest of the thread):

Nice! I think I want to go with LED's mainly for the lifespan. Thanks for the help. Problem is, if one cluster or clock bulb burns out they aren't simple to get to. I know I have nearly half a dozen out now

Might want to check your alternator / regulator circuit to verify it is keeping the voltage within limits. Too high a charging voltage will burn out the bulbs.

Doing a restoration, got a new regulator and rebuilt the alternator. I'm sure nobody ever changed any of these 50 year old bulbs. The guy that originally had the car new was a pencil pusher and I know my dad never really worried about it even though he's a life long tech. He barely even took the car out since '82 or '83 when he bought it. The frame and birdcage are in very nice shape.

What kind of question is that? I've been around a long time and have had incandescent bulbs bad right out of the box. I guess I'm just sold on LED's because of experience even around the house. LED's are pretty much fool proof and trouble free. No disrespect, just common knowledge these days.

Heck, they are going to get the car, let them spend their money on getting it to where they want it. They don't like LED's, they can change them back. They don't like my LED taillights, the old lenses are in a box, somewhere in the garage, find them. Not my problem but I was happy with my car.
