1953 frame VIN stamp
Here is something we don't see every day.
The VIN stamp on the frame of a 1953 Corvette.
The VIN stamp is NOT in the same location as the VIN stamp on later C1s.
The VIN stamp is located on the driver's side frame rail, about 3-4 inches back on the frame rails AFTER the starts curving up over the wheel.
A very similar location to the VIN stamp on a C2 Corvette.
Most later C1s have the VIN stamp in the driver's side frame rail pretty much directly underneath the driver's rear end.
Some 1953 Corvette also has a second VIN stamp on the X member. It would be on the driver's side front bar of the "X". This one does not have that second VIN stamp.
So, after a lot of cleaning and sanding, here is a frame stamp for a 1953 Corvette.

I guess I'm supposed to take your word for it - because I cannot read ANY of those digits. Okay, maybe the bottom of the 0s

It actually shows up better than the pictures. I did not remove the body, just jacked it up about 6 inches (body is loose on the chassis).

54 VIN stamp
I had a early 54 Corvette vin XX3X and the frame stamp was on the x member under the drivers legs.
We cut a hole in the floor to verify it and it was in very readable condition.
I will see if I can find the old pictures.
