sorry I can't help ID the previous owner, BUT I have a question:

where does that vacuum hose go that comes off the driver's side of the plenum and crosses over the top of the generator?

goes into the passenger side valve cover it seems, not sure exactly why they modified it as such.

WASITD: New Jersey or the auction company - they had to give the $$ to somebody and with that "casting #" ET may be the previous owner.

It's obvious from the NJ State issued VIN Tag, that the car is (or was) a theft recovery.

18N391775 is the VIN derivative for the car the engine originally came out of. "1" is Chevrolet, "8" is 68, "N" is Norwood OH assembly plant, & 391775 is the donor car's production number.

V022IME is the engine assembly date and code. "V" is Flint MI engine plane, "02" is February, "21" is the 21st of the month, and "ME" is the engine suffix code for a 68 Camaro 327/210, 2 bbl and a Powerglide.

The 3914678 block casting was a 68 only block, used for 302/290's, 327/210's, 327/275's 327/350's 327/300's & 350/295's.

B68 is the block casting date. "B" is February, "6" is the 6th day of the month & "8" is 1968.

The engine in your 62, started life as a 2 bbl, 210 hp, 327 in a 68 Camaro with a Powerglide trans, that was built at the Norwood OH Camaro plant, around the end of Feb. 1968.

I don't know the car, but I can't say for sure, that I've never seen it. There have been hundreds (maybe thousands ) of Roman Red 62's in NJ, including mine! It seems like almost every 62 in the state, has been painted Roman Red.

IF it goes into a PCV valve in the valve cover, then with those valve covers it is part of a bubba crankcase ventilation system; not good as I see no way/place for air it get into the engine, as the filler cap has no vent....

Thanks for the help. I like the color scheme, seem like a lot of NJ boys have good taste .
I might be able to locate the owner via the license plate.

well the other end of the valve is open (one end goes into a opening hole in the valve cover)

The "true vin 2086s103039'" is a correct issued original vin.
See picture #3.
What is the vin on the title?

The Vin # is not painted on the frame but it is stamped on the frame and it should be just about where your butt hits the seat. Just under the body on the frame it should be stamped there. Sometimes you can see it with a mirror and sometimes you need to lift the body to see it.

is it on the top portion of the frame where the body is laid on? or the bottom facing the ground

It's stamped on top.

It's pretty hard to see/find, with the body on, especially if it's an unrestored, dirty frame, but it can be done. With some 409, one of those tooth brush sized wire brushes, a good flash light, a small adjustable spot mirror, and a lot of luck, and you might be able to find it.

The bubba crankcase ventilation system would be a product of the 1968 327 engine in this car.

Was able to find some paperwork in the car that had a previous owners name, he lived somewhere near Ramsey NJ. Found a number and left a voice message, praying for a call back

not with those valve covers....

as best as i can see, there is no hole in the driver's side valve cover; therefore there is no crankcase vent system;

bad juju...
Bill

it needs to be done similar to this (ignore the yellow circle, that is an old capacitive discharge ignition system.... )
