I was stopped at a light in my '64 roadster yesterday and a very attractive woman in a white C7 made a point of stopping next to me and waving with a smile before pulling forward. Thanks, but I'll continue to wave just to be safe!

I'm a C7 owner and new to the Corvette fold. Can't say I was ever a "vette" guy, but I was always into cars, and yes, I can identify a C1 - or most any car - from a distance. However, being that I never owned a Corvette, and did not know any people that did, I had no idea why I was being waved at by fellow Vette owners. It did not take too long to figure it out, so my transgressions were short lived. So, to those who I ignored during my first two months of ownership, sorry!

Funny story... I also have a motorhome and a Jeep Wrangler, both vehicles that also have a wave between fellow owners. My wife is a little shy and keeps to herself - the first time she took a ride in the Vette with me and I waved to a fellow Vette guy, she looked at me and said "really?!?! Can't you own a single vehicle that we don't have to wave to people in???" Made me laugh!

That's the attitude that started the jokes comparing Corvette owners and porcupines. Very embarrassing. Lose the "holier than thou" attitude. It makes you look like an azz.
A buddy of mine in his 67 coupe and I in my 60 drove 100 miles to a car show today. We didn't enter but went just for the cruise in nice weather. On the way, we exchanged waves with a C-1, C-5, C-6, a 60's Austin Healey and a MGA. People in our area almost always wave at other old cars.

I swear if I didn't take the 66 out today and saw a C5 coming, I end up looking like a jack *** with my hand out the window because he didn't wave back.

Gee that's too bad.
I wave at all Corvettes, even those with chrome bumpers.

If you're going to refer to me in that manner, I would prefer that you at least spell it in all CAPS.

Check the news. The car was stolen. Driver obviously trying to keep a low profile.

I wave at ALL Corvettes if a see them. My wife is my spotter when she is with me. I tease her about the fact that BMW (she has a 650) drivers never wave at each other.

I also give the wave or thumbs up to other neat cars. I like them all.

That may also be a factor in why they do not wave. True or not you C5 and newer guys
:I agree:and are windows are down making it easy to wave

I left for the west coast in 1984, we had big shows in Shippensburg, Pa. , had people there like Zora and Dave McLellan.
And had shows in Hagerstown.

That's back when I enjoyed Corvette Clubs

Was out yesterday and passed (or caught up with) four Vettes. Three of the four waived back.

Was stopped in traffic at a light and a guy in a brand new Cadillac ATS rolled down his passenger window and said "Now that's a beautiful car."

"Thank you" came the reply.... kind of made my day.

Maybe you are the problem. Waive to all and they will wave back.
