Default '59 decklid fitment

I started fitting the rear trunk and decklid on my '59. The trunk lid fits pretty good as far as gaps and being flush with the rest of the body. The decklid fits well too except each front corner is down ~1/2" from the quarterpanel. See pics. Is this normal? Can I rely on the convertible top to push this area up to make it flush? I don't think there's a latch or bumpstop in this area like a C2 decklid.

Thanks guys. I put the weatherstripping on temporarily and that pushed it up maybe 1/4". Although the weatherstripping is hollow and squished down a lot so maybe I'll stick more rubber inside it to firm it up on the end.

I read about two different ones after my initial post. So who has the correct weatherstrip, corvette rubber?
