On 30 June, 1953, the 1st Corvette rolled off the assembly line in Flint Michigan. Happy Birthday, Corvette.

Here are a few pics - I know they have been posted before from many sources.

When I worked for GM, I spent several summers at the GM Assembly Research Center (GM ARC) in Flint, working pilot programs. It was the building where the first Corvettes were built and quite a flash back to the past (even in the late 70's and early 80's). The building was small (even by 70's standards), with a lot of early Corvette pictures and employee parking on the roof.

That was a neat place to work - I was there from '66-'69 when it was the Chevrolet Pilot Line (Senior Process Engineer, Passenger Cars & Corvette).
