Now I know what burnt fiberglass looks like. My initial thought was that the car had been stored upside down in a cow pasture.

Would someone please explain the price to me?

Well if you look how much money it costs to restore a C1 to perfect condition 20,000 you get all the parts the vin tag , and most likely matching original corvette. This corvette was maybe a 80,000
corvette .

It doesn't appear to me that the fire was inside the car. The tires are intact and the paint burned all the way to the back without burning or melting fiberglass.

i'm confused... why do you say the fiberglass is not burned/melted? or, are you talking about the fiberglass strands themselves?

What he's saying fiberglass melts and drips runs off the body not holding its natural form . That's really what big time burning is .

2VettesMike suggested vandalism, and I think he might be correct.

Maybe someone had it stolen and torched for the insurance money.

I would like to have a vintage sports car that I could both brush and pet.

No way this was an engine fire, it had a lot of help from someone motivated.

you're right... when mine burned it was so hot that the upper a-frames folded over the shock towers and the airmeter and fuel pump were lumps of aluminum; but then gasoline from the engine helped...

it is POSSIBLE that because the hood was closed the engine didn't burn, but considering the rest of the car looks like a Chia Pet and the gas tank didn't go up it would have to have been a fortuitous set of circumstances to not simple be a pile of ash... kinda like the probability of 5 wheels on the same car not having weights....

you have seen the other picture of my car after the fire, NOTHING left of the front end... not even a pile of ash...

Default Burnt car

I parted out a 63 a few years ago that was in a fire . Had in the shop for two weeks and have never been able to get the smell out of the shop. Every time I look at a burned car on line I swear I can smell that same burned smell. Sad .
