Trying to gauge what the increase in value is for an original 1965 327/350HP convertible is over normal price. Car appears to have
all original paint, interior, etc... Only non original thing I can find
is the convertible top. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jim

It depends on the condition of all the original parts and paint.

All original can mean beat to heck, all worn out and needing a full restoration - or it can mean garage kept in pristine, original condition and driven only on dry Sundays. Quite a difference.

If as you describe and NOT in need of restoration, I'm paying what it takes to buy that car. Anyone with enough money can have a restored car. To many of us original is much more desirable because it is so rare.

It varies like mad.

A real estate friend picked up an all original (and I mean ALL original down to the carpets) 64 fuelie for a song and sold it at Mecum last January for well into 6 digits.

And don't believe the claims for originality unless you, or somebody you trust, has put eyeballs on the piece...

Is this the car? If not maybe you use it as a comparison...

Real originality in above average condition will bring a premium.Depending on the car sometimes a large premium. The issues are the quality and bigger issue is it really original. I have seen cars that are listed as all original paint and interior that were actually an older amateur restoration. Just because the car has old paint does not mean it is the original paint. You have to know what you are looking at.

Thanks for the response. The car was at Harrisburg Mecum, a 350hp
convertible. Looked it over for about an hour. It sold high $70's. Probably worth it I really couldn't figure the premium. Hard to believe it was as nice as it was but it really appeared original, paint and all.

If you never driven a car that's never been taken completely apart and is in still nice shape your know why some one would pay more for one.

I can see why it went for so much, and worth it I suspect. But I have a 40K mile '64 convertible, and my interior looks no where near as new as that one, especially the carpets. I think the interior and the engine compartment have been "freshened", but still it is a unique car.

Looks like new hoses and clamps.

My 66 was kept nice and is original and looks no where near that new under the hood. I still have original belts and hoses. I was told by mike mccagh to not clean it up. My interior is that nice but the guy I bought it off of was a fanatic about cleanliness.
