Default C2 reproduction wheels

What is the quality of the reproduction steel wheels for the C2's? Is there anything wrong with them? I see people advertising and buying original wheels for ridiculous prices and always wonder why if there is a quality reproduction available.

The quality of the 63-64 & 65-66 steel wheels, is very good. Some people just have to have original parts, and the repro wheels don't have GM, Kelsey-Hayes, or any other OEM markings, and aren't dated.

Or Corvette Specialities of Maryland......West. They offer new and correct steel wheel reproductions. But they may not have all the GM/KH logos on the inside. I don't know, but you could call and inquire.

I just bought 4 new 15x5.5 steel wheels last week from Paragon. The wheels look nice. There are no markings on the outside of the wheel. Paragon resells them from an unknown vendor. They cut out all the original wheel MFG stickers and numbers off the wheel box so I have no idea who actually makes the wheel. I looked into Wheel Vintiques however they don't make a 5.5" wide wheel.

Probably CS of M......West. They supply a lot of parts to others like Paragon. As example, they are now supplying the correct reproduction C2 side pipe covers to just about everyone..........but they have many, many other reproduction parts as well. Good people.

FWIW.

Brain was marketing they where making the tooling a few years back for the wheels. So I don't know if they did them in house or just the middle man.

There are many vendors who sell the 5 1/2" steel wheels. Don't know if there is more than one manufacturer.

other than for 'restoration'/judging purposes, why not just go to 6"; wider is better.... (the obvious reason GM went from 5 to 5.5...)

As others have said if you just want wheels that fit there are many options out there. If you want original wheels there is no reproduction that is close.
