Just got home
I just got home from a 3 week trip overseas. I went to Austria, then to Sweden to the Power Big Meet where they has some 15,000 All American Cars only there. There were a fer Corvettes a couple 67's and a few 64 roadsters a few 65 and a few 66 Corvettes. There were also some C3 and C4 cars also. I will say that Sweden has more 1959 - 1962 Caddies there then we have here in the States. I could not guess how many I saw but it was a lot. A big thing there now is the rustier the better on the early 60's and 50's cars and you could also tell that some of the rust was painted there and weather it was original rust or painted on it was all clear coated. Also the people driving this type of car looked like they were out of the early to mid 50's but with more ink on there bodies and had not had much use for soap or water and shampoo if you know what I mean. Also a lot of the 50's people were clean and dressed in the 50's with poodle skirts and black and white shoes and dark red lipstick on the ladies and the guys had jeans that were rolled up at the pant legs and Tee shirts with sleeves rolled up with a pack of smokes tucked in the part rolled up. I did see a few with the old D A hair cut (meaning Ducks *** flying South hair cuts) with about a pound of lard on there hair to hold it in place. This is the largest all American Car only Car show in Europe and cars came from everywhere. Several Hearses some restored and some not a couple Blues Brothers Cars and the people who had them dresses the part. There were right at 800 vendors selling anything from Caddie parts to 50's items. They all love and want American items and anything with the American Flag on it. I would see something that was priced maybe what looked like to me $30.00 but with the exchange rate it would only be about 3 Euro $4.00 US. So if a soft drink was priced at $6.00 it would only be about $0.70 US. I was there from Wed. till Sunday morning when caught my flight back to Austria. I went to Germany a couple times on short trips and about 4 or 5 trips to the Chech Republic. I went to about 6 very old but well kept Castles and met a guy who owned 4 wine cellars that he took me into and yes I did sample the wine and brought back several bottles which 2 of them have 23K gold in the bottles. Each and every bottle this company puts out has real 23K gold in each bottle. The guys I were with in Austria all have Corvettes, C3 and C4 but that is OK as long as they are Vettes. Three week is not enough so yes I will be going back again. This was my second trip there and if you ever get a chance to go Vennia Austria is a nice vacation place but get away from the big city and go to the small villages that is where you really see the country.

I've seen several videos of the Swedish car show you went to; and its phenomenal.
In my business trips to Sweden, the locals made it a point to tell me how much they admired American cars, especially from the 50's and 60's.

The people I was with made me feel completely safe, 2 of them are police officers. With Austria being a peaceful country and causes no harm to anyone or any country. Some of the other countries on the other hand, I am not sure I would have wanted to go to them. I am sure I will go back in about 4 years depending on how things are in the world.
