Default 1964 Corvette NOS Luggage Straps

I have a 1964 Corvette NOS luggage straps set in original General Motors box. My understanding is that 1964 was the only year that the luggage straps were offered by GM. I am wanting to sell, can anyone tell me what they are worth?
Thanks, Nelson

Wow, never heard of those. I associate luggage straps with aftermarket luggage racks. Remember the ones that would tilt up so you could fill up?

Default 1964 Corvette Luggage Straps

Here is a picture from the 1964 Chevrolet Dealer Album of the straps I believe the OP is referring to.

Thanks! Were they promptly withdrawn after a few Chevy dealer lot boys drilled mounting holes into the gas tank?

It doesn't look like the straps get mounted to the bulk head in front of the tank. Looks like one rhe gets mounted to the luggage stop behind the seats. Not sure where the other end is.

Granted I never looked at a 64 dealer accessory book I have never herd or seen this before.

Yes, I agree with all comments. Neverless, I do have a NOS set in the GM box and I would like to sale. Color is black. I have a 1965 Vette and cannot use them correctly.
Thanks, Nelson

Doesn't matter - they weren't part of any factory-installed/available package and never came on a car from St. Louis, so they have no intrinsic collector value. GM Accessories were all bought over the parts counter and installed either by the dealer or the customer.

John Z has an interesting point. These are in the same category as the locking gas cap. Interesting.

Wow, I also have a set of NOS luggage straps in the original GM box!
As far as I know they were all black.
Interested to see what they would be worth also, but not interested in selling mine at this time.

From Dobbins book, page 133

Also, according to the GM 1964 Accessories Parts List, it was a $10.95 item.

$10.95? That was the cost of a couple of tanks of 100+ octane gas back then! In California, about 36 cents a gallon for Super Shell, 1967.

Hi John
In your email you stated that you also have a set of 1964 Vette NOS luggage straps. Do you have a copy of the instruction and parts list? I am wanting to make sure that I have everything required to install before I try to sell. I greatly appreciate any information that you could share with me.
Thanks, Nelson
