There maybe some regional differences at work. There are quite a few C1's here in New England and some of us drive them to several shows; summers are nice here.
For what it's worth, one of my C1 friends or myself will gather more attention than most cars. One of us very often wins the Corvette category and sometimes best in show. On a side note, most of us are under 60, some under 50 and the cars are not restomods.

It's great that you guys get your cars out.
I don't enjoy Corvettes because they get me attention. I've had about 25 C2s, and about the same number of C1s. The C1s always outdrew the C2s where I live, and I like less attention. Maybe it's a northern thing.
But I like C1s just a little more than C2s. If I could afford both I would have both. And I try to get my car to as many shows as possible. I even let a forum member drive my car with his wife for her 57th birthday a few years ago.
They do have to get out so more people can see and enjoy them.

You'll "get it" when you see folks gravitating towards the 70's Chevelles and 2nd gen Camaros (and later Firebirds seem to be on a roll)... and ignoring your C1 pride and joy.
A year or so ago I was showing off (yeah kinda dumb) leaving Long John Silvers for some young folks exiting the restaurant. The '61 roared out of the parking lot and I heard, "You go Pops!". Yeah -- that...

I think a lot of the previous posts have hit on some valid reasons.
Looking at model t era vehicles do nothing for me although I respect the preservation etc.
It all relates back to what turned our crank when we were teenagers. Cars we beat the crap out of and cars we wished we could have back then but couldn't afford.
As we age, the car demographics will mirror that.
I have some of my stuff in Canada and some in Florida, but I have some observations. "Mature " observers will almost drop their groceries to thumbs up the jewel blue 61, most don't give the SWC a second look except at gas stations and the 2015 06/07 only gets eyebrows raised when in Canada as they are a rare duck here.
Our local car shows have the same characters sitting by their own vehicles in their cliques and when a $100k vehicle arrives they often don't get up,from their 82 IROC to take a peek.
Taking young respectful kids out for a rip, will help prolong the inevitable...

You are right about the lack of C-1's at shows and cruises. Since I was very sick this winter and unable to drive my racecar, I have been taking my 60 Hot rod Vette to as many car cruises as I can. Very seldom do I see another, I think they are mostly setting in garages. I like to let kids and others set in my car and see the grins on their faces as Mom or Dad take a pic. The young kids like my car cause it's cool and different, The older guys like my car cause it's been hot rodded just like they were back in the 60's and 70's. The purists I have seen stand and shake their heads in dissaproval. I just laugh and enjoy driving the heck out of it! It aint that pretty, but it's a blast to drive and as long as I can, I will.

I take the 56 to a few cruises and an occasional car show. But I don't park with the Corvette community and I don't take it to the Corvette events because MOST of the attendees are late models and they are just too GD snooty for me! WHY, WHY, WHY are late model Corvette owners so damn snooty?????????? I DO NOT understand it!

A few years back I to noticed the lack of c1 & c2 at most car shows, and even at all vette shows with 200-400 vettes there were only a handful of c1 & c2, honestly I would rather go to a street rod show than look at 400 newer vettes , they just all seem the same. So about 2 years ago I founded Solid Axles & Sting Rays Non-Club Club ,for 53-67 only corvettes, we meet once a month and anywhere from 15 to 25 cars will show up , its a car show in itself,.
This weekend we had our annual Corvettes on the Lake get together, I will try and post some pics , was expecting about 35 cars, early Rain put a damper on that number , but we still ended up with 15 .

Corvettes on the Lake , turned out to be quite an attraction for the boaters , we had one trophy only and it went to the Boaters Choice , passing boats picked their favorite, It was the Silver 56!

I don't know where you guys are meeting all these @hole Corvette owners...
I've had C5 and C6 drivers practically run me down to get alongside and give me a thumbs up.... I have had some NCRS weenies pick on my '61 but not the '63...

You never see em when you do...seldom do you see a "car guy" driving one. Pics look great, all of em.

Lots of nice ones at Main Street America show in San Diego today!
Probably 20 C1s.
The 60 next to me is completely original! Down to the carpets, seats, chrome, paint, etc.. 23K original miles! Super nice guy Eric bought it from the daughter of the original owner a few years ago.... and then got NCRS Top Flight.

I never said they were all @holes, but the ones that are aren't limited to just C5-C7 owners. There are also great owners across all years.
