1966 tires need replacing
I'm searching the googlenet and get get close but no cigar. Doesn't have to be Michelin, but can anyone suggest a decent tire, and a place to purchase them at reasonable cost? Thank you.
I am looking to replace these. Michelin tire - 205 75R 15

I would install any tire but a Michelin on my cars. Being in the industry, I can say that they are the Dry Rot King of tires.

Thanks for that. I'm not bent on getting Michelin. Those were on the car when I purchased it. Being the car is undergoing a frame-off, and the tires are dated 1992- yeah, I know- it's time to replace them. But you know, for such old tires, the dry rot is barely noticeable: just minimal between some treads. But old and unsafe, nevertheless.
Being you're in the industry, I wouldn't mind a few suggestions. Thanks.

I know some people buy the Hankook Optimo H724, or the Goodyear Assurance All-Season, or the Kumho Sense Kr26. All under $100/tire.

Michelin's are the quietest, smoothest riding tire I've ever used on any car. However, they no longer make a 205-75/15 according to Diamondback. They do make a 215-70/15 if that suits you. It's almost exactly the same height, but a little wider. That car really looks good with the whitewalls, are you going back with that?

Try doing a search on here! It's well covered in tire tracks. Do you do any tire business with any tire shops in your area? Dennis

I'm okay with the 215's as long as they fit. I'll check the Diamonback site. I like the whitewalls, too, and do want to match the look. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks. I came up with very little when I first tried, but I'll try searching this forum again. I like the idea of the local tire shop, but being it changed hands recently, I can't attest to its reliability. Good time to find another.

Can't give you a comparison the Goodyear, Michelin or others on the C2 as we have only had it about 9 months.

P.S. R66 is a driver, not a show car. Yours looks way too nice to be a driver.

Not sure this will be interesting for the OP as they are only offered in blackwall, but I have only good things to say about Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.
As the name suggests, they have a tread and look that is period-correct with the midyears, they are offered in both 205 and 215/70-15, with speed ratings V or W, i.e. largely sufficient for a C2. On top of that, they are rated M+S for those with cold winters.
There are a few online retailes in the US, as far as I could see.

I edited my post above. I meant to say 215-70/15 are the same height and just a slight bit wider. (not 75).

Michelin 215/70/15 should be just fine on your car, as for the 215/75/15 they will just barely rub in the front on full lock turn.
The 215/70/15 will give you that little bit of extra margin of space, and will not rub.
... I only buy Michelin!

I have the 205/75/15 on there now, and luckily haven't experienced any rubbing. I checked with the Michelin site and I can't find a ww. I have to keep looking. Cheers!

215/65/15?
This is a timely discussion for me and have a question that is related to the OP's original question. I have a newly acquired 67 and there have been many more pressing issues than the tire size. I just went out and looked at my car just now and see that it has 215/65/15 tires on stock 15x6 rally wheels. I'm wondering if they may be a bit too fat and will rub the fender lips. There has been no rubbing so far because I've done little more than drive it around the block on 25 MPH side streets! Does anyone else out there have and experience with this particular tire size on a C2?
