Lots of people with cars that beautiful are afraid to drive them. I'm sure glad that won't be a problem for you.

In the meantime we'll be searching for a replacement Margarita Mixoligist to take care of us on this trip. If there is one single thing Mr. TexVette66 does better than anything else, it is to serve up delicious cocktails to us road warriors after a rough day of museum touring and ice cream eating.

C-2 TRIP HAS BEGUN (for some of us)
On Friday Roy & Kathy Brotherhood returned home to Cave Creek from New York. Later that day the R6T7s arrived from their home near Palm Springs. Saturday AM both couples headed north toward their first night on the road: Gallup, NM.
On Saturday we CaveCreekChumps plus the Norrises had a very nice lunch with Mr. & Mrs. Mossy66. Sunday afternoon John Meyerhoff and Mary Carol Plott arrived at Chez Jones with their trailered '69 Corvette. Monday morning we will all meet the Norrises for breakfast and then head out on the road. First night's stop: Albert Lea, MN where we had hoped to meet up with Jim Norgren and the ailing Mrs. Norgren.
Also on Monday Dave & Diane Rotter will head north to Chamberlain from Mena, AR.
I know, it sounds boring when I write it but these trips are always the highlight of our annual travel schedule. This one officially begins Tuesday afternoon in Chamberlain, SD.
Once again, we always welcome the opportunity to meet other Corvette Forum members and old Corvette owners along the way!

It's cool to follow the Chumps as they cruz along .... I'm sure their will be some mechanical issues along the way. I hope not but you know Murphy's Law.... One is ...." A $800.00 Dollar Flat screen display will blow every time to protect a $.10 Fuse"...
So Yo guys have a Good trip and watch That Non Corvette Following you in the rear view.

Good luck getting the issues worked out. We are looking forward to your great pictures and updates. Be safe.

Right you are, but that was a pretty safe statement. This day, from St. Charles, IL to Albert Lea, MN saw a turn signal malfunction, a gas leak dripping on a hot manifold and some major part-throttle pre ignition hammering away on hills. Three cars, three problems.
Thank God for beer at the end of the drive!

Recap of most recent c-2 trip
We met in Chamberlain, SD on Sept. 28th and traveled through some of the nation's most spectacular territory. This included the Black Hills, Badlands, Yellowstone, the Custer Battlefield and much, much more. Unfortunately, the weather turned cold early on and it was rarely as comfortable as we warm-weather fans would have liked.
I have many beautiful photos but no skill in posting on this site so please use your imaginations.
While staying in West Yellowstone, MT, a blizzard was predicted that would have closed off the best escape routes so we threw a hasty closing night cocktail party and dinner and called an end to the trip a couple of days early. During the celebration we called Mr & Mrs. Texvette66 to announce some excellent news: they have been selected to plan the next trip; most likely a tour of the great state of Texas (I hope)!
Some rule changes were unilaterally announced and a philosophical rift ensued. My prediction is that, on our future trips, we will welcome all C-1s as well as C-2s and C-3s up to and including 1972. The gene pool was getting a little too dilute for many of us purists so it is time to tighten things up again.

I love these trips. I wish I had made the Southern one. Texas is an excellent idea- and I'll also say I think the added c-1 and early c3 cars is wise. The 72 cutoff is appropriate.
My new to me 69 would make an interesting alternative to the 64- less packing space but ac and power amenities plus my wife can drive it. Hmmm...
cant wait for photos!!
