Suggestions for places/things to see while in California/Nevada during November
Hi all,
this year I finally decided to return to the US after around 20 years from my last visit.
I will be arriving in Las Vegas at the end of October, spend there about a week (have tickets for SEMA) and then make a move to Huntington Beach first and then San Francisco. Will rent a car till my flight back to Italy on the 16th of November.
I'd really be interested in visiting as much as I can that is related to Corvettes and generally Muscle Cars, so museums, events, meetings, forum members, etc. Since I recently started a business here in Italy for import and restoration of the above cars, I'd like to have your suggestions on what dealers should I get in contact with or plan to visit to possibly start a business relation.
Thank you for your help!

If you're driving . . . i"d suggest a drive from Reno to CA via Lake Tahoe . . . I've done it twice in my life - one of the most scenic drives in the country. Not sure if you'd want to do it in November though!

You are in luck!
Vettes for Veterans is Saturday Nov 5th in Carlsbad, CA.
That's about a 1 hour drive from Huntington Beach.
I would estimate 200+ cars attended last year.
All-Corvette show.. Free (unless you have a Vette to show).

October/November is usually one of our better months here. The bad stuff usually doesn't start until January.

Did this a couple of years ago, positively gorgeous scenery....a little nerve-wracking for a Florida flatlander but worth every minute of it

Thank you all for the replies!
My plan was to stay in Vegas till the 6th and then move to California but the event on the 5th seems pretty promising. I may consider to change my schedule and move one day earlier in oder to reach the car meeting only if I would be welcomed as special guest
Don't think will have time to go to Reno but will definitely follow most of the PCH as I did on my trip 20 years ago.
I would also be very happy if I could meet with some of you for a chat or a beer along my travel stops

Vegas to LA
Any interest in drag racing? Stop at Wally Parks NHRA museum in Pomona on your way to LA. Lots of history and old racecars.
Going north to SF Pebble Beach and the 17 mile drive is famous. Carmel scenic drive.
Corvette Mikes in LA its close to West Coast Corvette. Petersen is good but they change often so you may want to check to assure there are cars you are interested in. Just there last week and one floor was French cars from the 30's. Only one Corvette but it was a very rare prototype.
Do be aware of fires. I just got though the Cajon on the I 15 from Vegas right before it was shut down for many hours due to fire. Stranding drivers for hours in 104 degrees on the desert side.
