I was told Cast Blast was the color. It's made by Seymour.

That's what I used.

Long Island sells a grey for it. I see some cars with grey and some with black. I'd like to conform to NCRS standards for the 67. I'll keep looking and listening.
Thanks

No where close. It was a light gray that almost looks like primer

Consider a "Zinc-rich primer" like Krylon Sprayon Zinc Rich Primer. That is what I used for my own car. It has a very high zinc content like the original Ionaklad zinc coating used by the factory. There are a number of these coating available by different manufacturers if you look for it.

Be aware the primer I mentioned is not a paint and is not as durable finish as paint has...............but it will work and look very nice as well as protect the steel spring. It is used in the chemical and marine industries to coat and protect steel beans and other parts.

Thanks Larry. I wonder how that compares to the paint Long Island C. sells. I'm assuming I'll be safe to use what they advertise as correct leaf spring color.

The '67 Judging Guide says the spring is semi-gloss light gray. I used LIC Rear Spring Gray # 45-11 and was happy with how it came out.

Yep, light gray.
I used Quanta's spring paint. I'm happy with the way it looks but it's not real durable.

Good advice. You wouldn't want anything to happen to your steel beans.

I used the Quanta paint also with no judging deducts. There was enough to pass the remains on to 2 more users.

Yea, I installed it with the Quanta paint on it.

The next one's going to be done with PPG 2 part Urethane Primer, either K36 or their primer sealer.
