I WON!! Best Chevrolet in Show - over 350 cars
I entered my first car show with over 350 cars, and won "Best Chevrolet in Show"!! Nice to have all my hard work get validated. Thanks for all the people on this forum that have helped me!

Let me be the first to say congratulations on your impressive win!! The good people at the Clayton Community Car Show know a great car when they see it. I feel your exhilaration and excitement, what a beautiful car!

I had 6 pictures of the car when it was a basket case that I had between two pieces of Plexiglas. I then had a book of a bunch of pictures. I had also made up a "1958 CORVETTE FUN FACTS" and gave a brief history of the making of the corvette (53) and about the 58...like first year of seat belts, dual head lights, etc.
People really liked to look through that...and most couldn't believe the shape it was in. I had so many people say "YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME"!!?!!?
I had a blast talking to so many people.

Congrats...
You'll have to bring it up here to "KAN", Kool April Nights next year...
They limit it to 2 thousand cars...

Congratulations. That is a beautiful car.
I like how you put the table with restoration pictures BEHIND the car. Did not distract from the front view of the car, yet obviously drew attention.
Great job!

If there is one 'takeaway' from your struggles with this restoration, I hope its that you realize these cars weren't built with CAD/CAM computer systems, 3D printers and robots. Nearly everything is a compromise and very often, "....perfection is the enemy of good enough"

Well, that's.......that's Just Plain WHACKY! Congrats. Love the seats...car color combo is super sharp and classy. I lived in Concord from '63-'68, and then again from '89-'91 very near Clayton! I like Concord. Small world.....
