63 Headlight mounting
In early 63 cars, a pair of headlights, with their respective retaining rings, as well as individual retaining cups, are mounted to a plate that screws to the headlight housing (with four screws), as shown in the pic below. I think the plate is a 63-only part, but I'm not sure.
Does anyone know if this plate is available somewhere?

63 fiberglass buckets used those. I don't know if a dual headlight C1 plate will fit or if a dual headlamp Chevy or GMC pickup part will interchange or be able to be modified to fit. Try paragon vintage parts or long island corvette used Corvette parts supplier for fastest source, or you can do swap meets.

I'm looking for a pair that are in bad shape, as I need to alter them for mounting LED headlight bulbs in one of my cars. I found some LED bulbs for a Harley that are the correct diameter, use 35 Watts of power (same as a sealed beam) and even have the correct plug to mate with the Corvette harness. They work great with the original dimmer switch and everything. I just need to alter the mounting plate and the retaining cups to clear the back of the lamp and I'll have bright, DOT-approved, (note the lens marking) High and Low beam LED lighting in my 63!!!!

I'll stop by Paragon's vintage area on Tuesday and see if they have a pair...
