The picture does not show any evidence of the broach marks. It may be that they are present, but not visible because the illumination is at the same angle as the camera. When photographing an engine pad, it helps if the lighting is off to the side so the broach marks are visible even if they are faint. But the real issue is the VIN derivative. If this car is a '67, the first letter should be a 7 - not an S as the picture shows. So, unless broach marks can be seen, there would be a total deduction for broach marks and for the stamping. Without knowing the car, I can't give an opinion on the engine assembly date.

Hope that helps!

Bob
a Polaroid picture would tell us its a bad restamp. its not even close to being real stamp.

Thank you. The car is very clean. I was hoping my long search for a real deal 427/435hp car was over but I'm getting discouraged by some of these replies.
I'm new to this and I've always loved the 67 427/435 hp red on black etc etc and I've been looking for a long time for a legit car. Previous owner said it's all legit and Keith biggers ncrs judged checked the car all out etc and said it was legit. So I'm getting mixed reviews

Did Keith Biggers say that the car is an original big block car? An original 435hp car? The engine stamp is original? All of the above?

I'm surprised Keith didn't tell you about the very incorrect stamping on the engine pad. (among other issues)

The most glaring error is the fact that the VIN number contains the letter "S". That group of characters should contain only numbers.

Still a great looking car though.

When I read online it says the "s" in the vin means it was assembled in St. Louis

On the engine pad, the number preceding the VIN number for a 1967 Corvette must be a 7 - not an S. That is not correct!

If you know this Keith biggers and you think he knows his stuff then go with what he says. It can be difficult at times to look at a picture of a vin number and tell if it's the real deal or not, except if there are letters there that should not be.

the trim tag does not tell you what engine came in the car. one thing all BB cars had there bodies assembled in house in ST. Louis. but sb were put in St. Louis bodies too.

That's incorrect. The "S" on the trim tag preceding the body number would indicate that the body was built in St Louis. All '67 Corvettes had final assembly done there as well.

When you say Keith Biggers authenticated the car, did you have him do it, or did the previous owner say he had done it........ not that I have any clue who he is.

??? The trim tag does not indicate anything about what engine came in the car from the factory.

The other owner said he inspected it and another judge at Kissimmee Florida where it received a top flight award. The car is in excellent condition inside and out. I'm just really confused at this point
