This 283 is in a 58 that was built on August 4, 1958.

Casting number is 3737739. Date block was cast "G 1 58".

So since the block has 2 digits for the year it was not a Flint cast Corvette block correct ?

Pad stamp is "T 7 I 5 D" 5th digit is only one I'm not positive on...i think its a 5 but may be a 6 or a lower case "b" but i think letters were all upper case, right ?

Please let me know what the pad stamp reveals.

Its a Tonawanda block. Not from a Corvette.

pad stamp indicates assembled in Tonawanda NY (passenger car only) then July 15th D was a 58-64 283 auto in a B body or Impala
